Rapid Prototyping Added to Research and Development Capabilities
E.R. Wagner Manufacturing Company is pleased to announce the implementation of Rapid Prototyping as its latest Research and Development capability enhancement. The addition of the new resource continues E.R. Wagner’s position of leading the industry in engineered motion products. Insourcing this process eliminates cost and gives our engineers the quick turnaround needed to stay ahead of the competition. The ability to prototype is invaluable to the design process. E.R. Wagner Engineers will use this tool to evaluate assembly methods, generate basic or temporary fixtures, and extend this service to our customers.

The new 3D Printer prints components layer by layer using a wide range of plastic materials with a resolution of 28 microns (.0011 in). The machine has a build envelope of 11.57” x 7.55” x 5.85”.

2011 Quality Achievement
ER Wagner Manufacturing is pleased to announce thatPACCAR has formally recognized ER Wagner Manufacturing for their outstanding commitment and performance to provide the highest quality metal solutions and services. For the calendar year 2011, ER Wagner Manufacturing achieved a ZERO PPM quality performance level and has been added to the PACCAR list of key suppliers which have accomplished a 50 PPM or better quality performance level for 2011.
In appreciation, PACCAR has provided ER Wagner Manufacturing formal recognition on their corporate website for this outstanding quality performance. ER Wagner Manufacturing has also received a PACCAR quality award acknowledging this accomplishment. Copies of this award will be framed and shared among ER Wagner’s Milwaukee, WI and Brookfield, IL facilities as well as being posted on Wagner’swebsite.

Wagner’s EPD Division Rebuilds Press
Wagner’s EPD division rebuilds press and sets up integrated work cell to expand it’s wrapped tubing capabilities for anticipated growth.
This month Wagner brings on line a rebuilt press and new cell layout in anticipation of the rebound of the automotive markets needs for additional wrapped tubing applications. This cell is capable of producing Head Rest Tubes and other various wrapped tubes. Wrapped tubes are used as a cost savings replacement over cut to length tubing. A variety of sizes and shapes are available with notches, flanges, inter locking seams and other features added at a fraction of the cost of DOM tubing.

E.R. Wagner Engineered Products Division completes TS16949 Audit
The EPD division of E.R Wagner just completed their TS16949 Re-Certification audit with favorable results. The TS certification is the automotive industry’s standard for quality and business management systems. This comprehensive 4 - day assessment audited the company’s quality and business practices in all major areas.

E.R. Wagner Replaces Chinese Part
Working with its customer, E.R Wagner Engineered Products Division identified a protential cost savings and proposed replacing a Chinese made cut Body Mount Tube with a US made wrapped tube. The proposal, wrapping the parts from coil steel using an interlocking seam, yielded substantial cost savings over conventional DOM tubing. As soon as E.R Wagner designed and supplied prototypes were tested and approved, we were awarded the work.
